Luke Hyde (WCCS class of 2012) received his fair share of media interest yesterday. Luke and three other boys, all TAFE students, were travelling on a bus when they witnessed a woman slumped over the wheel of a car that was headed straight into a lake. The boys called out to their driver to stop then jumped out of the bus’ emergency exit and into the lake to pull the driver from her sinking vehicle. Luke and his mates have been hailed as heroes by the woman’s husband, who says she could have died without their intervention. For Luke, it was all in a good day’s work!
