The 2012 Olympic Games provided an excellent opportunity for WCCS Prep students to learn about other countries around the world, different sports that are played at this event and values such as teamwork, fair play and encouraging others. The Prep students began their discovery by locating London on a map. They learned about the Olympic Rings and then painted their own. They then began to prepare for their own Prep Olympics!

Medals were created from salt dough and were beautifully painted. Flags were painted and torches made. On the day of the event, the children marched in four different teams representing Great Britain, Australia, Kenya and China. After a brief opening ceremony, the children participated in tennis, javelin, swimming and the hammer throw. Lots of cheering was heard! At the conclusion, everyone received a medal presented by Mr Burgess, the Primary Deputy Principal.
