High School Science Teacher – Physics
(Potential for Assistant Head Teacher Position)

We are seeking a High School Science Teacher (Physics) to commence at WCCS in 2020. Experience in teaching a second branch of Science is preferred. The position of Assistant Head Teacher may also be offered to a suitable candidate.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in teaching Stages 4 – 6, to meet a wide range of student learning requirements, including effective use of ICT in the classroom
  • Teaching experience in Stage 6 Physics (and a second branch of Science preferred)
  • An excellent classroom teacher with a deep and broad knowledge of current issues and practices.
  • Meet and maintain the criteria of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST) at proficient level according to legislation.
  • A current Working with Children Check as legislated.

The Assistant Head Teacher would be responsible for assisting the Head Teacher to:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of an excellent Christian learning culture.
  • Lead learning through the coordination of the design and delivery of curriculum.
  • Provide positive management and development of teachers.
  • Oversee classes in area of teaching and learning.
  • Maintain sound stewardship of School resources.
  • Maintain positive relationships with School community members.

Casual OOSH Care Staff

We are currently seeking casual OOSH staff to commence at WCCS as soon as possible. Suitable applicants must be available to work outside of school hours, including after school until 6:00 pm. This role requires physical activity in supervising and interacting with our students.

Selection Criteria:

  • Be able to fully subscribe to the School’s Statement of Faith
  • A commitment to seeing WCCS deliver an excellent Christian education
  • The ability to work effectively among a team
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • The ability to meet the physical demands involved in this position
  • A current Working With Children Check as legislated.
