Welcome to Term 4. I hope the holiday period for your children has been a relaxing and enjoyable one for the whole family. Once again the term presents as being very busy with Year 11 just completing their yearly examinations and their results about to be released. Years 7 to 10 have examinations in Weeks 3 and 4 this term. As a result your children should be devoting some time each night to preparing for these examinations. A more complete list of events is included below.
Term 4 signals the change to summer uniform. Students are not required to wear the blazer as the outer layer, but if a student wishes to wear the blazer, this is also acceptable. Boys are not required to wear their ties. It is advisable that uniform is checked for sizing as it may need to be altered – this is often the case particularly for girls’ skirts.
A reminder that in 2018 the phase in period for students having WCCS school bags will have ended, therefore all students will require the new WCCS school bag. Visit the uniform shop and place your order today.
Our thought and prayers are with our Year 12 students who begin their formal HSC examinations next week. This can be a very stressful time for the whole family. Perhaps it’s a good time to remember the scriptures. Matthew 6:26 says, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” We spend much of our time and energy trying to map out the future, sleeplessly planning and covering every possible outcome. Although a successful ATAR may seem to be the key to a range of opportunities or possibilities, we have a God who is control of all things including our university entrance and our career path. We need to learn to trust in God, and draw our support and strength from Him. The bible tells us to cast our anxieties and concerns on God as we seek to follow him.
