The marketers tell us that Snickers, packed with peanuts, really satisfies!

If only it was that simple. Now that we are in Term 4, students will be working hard to complete their final assessments and yearly examinations. This is a difficult time for students to juggle the many different requirements placed on them, but early planning is the key. Sitting with your child and planning out their time can assist in reducing stress levels.

We can also look to the Bible for words of encouragement and help. Consider Paul’s relationship with the Philippians and focus on Chapter 4, verses 4-23. This term will certainly bring happy and possibly not so happy moments for all of us. Whatever our circumstance, we can choose whether to be happy or sad. However, JOY, is something that is with us always because of the gift given to us through Jesus Christ. His sacrifice is what satisfies!

As we navigate through this busy and stressful time, I pray that you and your children can reflect and pray on these verses from Philippians 4:

V4 — Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice!

V6 — Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

V12 — I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

V13 — I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.

V19 – And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

If your child would like a Snickers chocolate as a reminder of your discussion, they can come and see me and I will give them one.

Also please pray for our Year 12 students as they continue with the HSC examinations.  Years 7 and 10 started their examinations in Week 3 and in Week 4, Years 8 and 9 will sit their examinations.

This time of year also requires the school to plan for 2018. You will notice on the school’s Edumate calendar term dates and examination periods for 2018. These dates are published early to assist families in their planning.
