Jake Elgalada – HTA Prize

Congratulations to Jake Elgalada (2019 HSC class) for achieving 2nd place in the ‘American Studies’ category of the 2019 HTA History Extension Essay Prize!

The History Extension Prize is sponsored by the University of Sydney’s Department of History and is open to high achieving History Extension students in NSW.

Jake’s 2500 word essay titled ‘Myth-history and the Frontier Fantasy: To what extent can the construction of mythology be considered a genuine historical process?’ was selected by a panel of judges and was chosen for being ‘interesting, well written history’ and for ‘being the product of genuine research.’

Jake will be awarded with a $200 prize from USYD’s United States Studies Centre which will be presented at a presentation ceremony for all the 2019 History High Achievers in March.
