This new school year continues to bring new faces to our staff cohort. This week, you meet another teacher as well as our new non-teaching staff members.
Eddie Anvieh – Bus Driver
When a position was advertised for a bus driver at WCCS, all of my three daughters, who are past students of the school (and one is a current teacher) agreed that this would be a great opportunity for me.
I see my employment as the school bus driver as a great opportunity to serve the community, as not all the staff employed would have the privilege to represent the school outside of the grounds every day. It has been interesting to see the Lord lead an ex-missionary and retired pastor, to the position of a bus driver.
I am confident that my employment will allow me to be a part of a new mission field: to share the Gospel with students and the community of William Carey Christian School.
Jo Barden – Carey Cubbyhouse Coordinator
I’ve enjoyed being a volunteer with Carey Cubbyhouse since July 2014, when it first began. I am excited to be the new Carey Cubbyhouse Coordinator of the fun playgroup, on Wednesday and Friday mornings, as well as a casual Learning Support Assistant. It’s a great privilege to spend time with children, parents and carers; building relationships in the school community. I love spending time with my husband Simon and four children at the beach, or camping and enjoying God’s awesome creation!
Nicole Bezzina – High School LSA
I am blessed with the opportunity to continue in a Learning Support capacity within WCCS. I continue my studies in Educational Support, after completing the practical component within the school, hoping to merge my knowledge through study with my passion in practice. My two children attend WCCS also, with my youngest starting Kindergarten this year. The support given to me as a colleague and mum here has been a blessing.
Shannon Mitchell – School Pyschologist
I am very excited to be back counselling at William Carey for 2018, supporting students and staff alike. I am passionate about wellbeing and exploring God’s design for us as individuals created in His image, as well as how we are meant to relate to each other. In my own time, I enjoy reading, snorkelling and going to concerts.
Emma Murada – Primary Teacher
I am very excited and blessed to be working at WCCS teaching Year 1. I previously worked at a school in the Campbelltown area for five years. I really wanted to be in an environment where I could share Jesus with my students freely, and I have found this at William Carey. I feel privileged to be able to share the Gospel and foster excitement for learning. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for WCCS.
Sue Pham – Marketing Assistant and High School LSA
This year, by the Grace of God, I officially join the WCCS community as a Learning Support Assistant as well as a Marketing Support Assistant. Last year, I completed the practical components of my studies in our school and have been blessed with this opportunity to continue my works here. In my spare time I enjoy spoiling my two dogs, eating copious amounts of dessert, playing Oztag at representative levels and the more-than-occasional afternoon nap.
Joshua Pullin – Technical Officer
I am very excited to be joining WCCS this year doing technical work for events and also helping teach students about technical aspects. I am not new to the school, having studied here and worked on many musicals and events throughout and since my schooling.
I’m blessed that God has given me the skills in other jobs and the opportunity to work at this genuinely God-focused school. I enjoy doing anything technical for friends or events, bike riding, going on adventure trips with my wife and spending time with my church family.
Bronwyn Stanton – LSA (CAPA and Prep School)
I am delighted and grateful to be joining WCCS this year in the Creative and Performing Arts Department, and Prep School.
As a family we have been a part of the WCCS community for over 10 years now, with my children enrolled and spread out from Year 12 down to Year 2. We juggle a wide range of activities from our love and commitment to church life, sometimes homework, music lessons and all things sport. I’m an avid fan of baseball, NFL and cricket.
I am excited to fulfil both these support roles in the school to the glory of God and benefit of staff, students and WCCS families!
Melissa Wheeler – Kindergarten Functional Aide
I am delighted to be joining William Carey Christian School this year as a functional aide in Kindergarten. I have been involved with the school for many years as a parent and volunteer and I’m excited about working with the students, I am currently completing my Certificate 3 in Education Support and completed the practical component at WCCS in 2017.
I feel privileged to be part of a Christian School Community.
