Athletics Carnival
A chilly and slightly damp day greeted us for our Athletics Carnival, however, it was still a very enjoyable day.  Our new routine of including Year 2 has paid off, as a number of the younger students excelled in their events.  Congratulations to all students who competed and made the most of the day, results indicating the top eight places in all events, can be found on the Primary Sport Blog.  The Zone Athletics Carnival will be held on Monday 6th August, at the Campbelltown Stadium Athletics Track.  Notes will be sent home well before then.

Uniform Matters
I will admit that I can be fairly blind when it comes to uniform, not looking to find problems as I walk through the playground.  However, a number of things have been pointed out to me recently.  If this relates to your child/ren, your cooperation in addressing these issues would be greatly appreciated. Please note, uniform is School Board mandated, and agreed to by families upon enrolment:

  • 1) Boys and earrings: Our uniform policy states that boys are not to wear earrings to school at any time.  If your son is wearing one, please remove it for his time at school.
  • 2) Sports Shoes: This is becoming a problem, especially for students representing the school at IPSSO. Our policy states: “Only on sports days students are to wear fully enclosed and lace up shoes (no slips-on or canvas upper shoes, e.g. Vans). They should provide arch, ankle and sole protection and be conservative in colour (mainly black, white, navy, grey or silver – not fluoro).”
  • 3) Mix and Match: Students are not to mix and match scholastic and sport uniforms.

Bus Travel
In order to transport children safely to and from school, we have a number of practices and procedures in place.  Could you please reinforce the following with your children:

  • 1) Buses are loaded by staff.  Students are not allowed to board unsupervised.
  • 2) All students Prep to Year 6 must be seated on the bus at all times.
  • 3) Prep to 6 students sit in the front half of the bus only.
  • 4) Shouting/calling out/moving around is not allowed, as it distracts the driver.
  • 5) Senior High School students are allowed to direct Primary students to behave on the bus.

Regular breaching of any of these practices will see the student removed from the bus for a period of time.
