A message from the Primary Deputy

Staffing Changes for 2019
As we near the end of the year, I am pleased to be able to announce some staffing changes for 2019.  I shall be referring to Primary (Prep to Year 6) changes.  Mr McMullen will advise of other changes in the near future.

Mrs Glenda Brander –  Glenda began working at William Carey in 1989!  Since that time, she has been a classroom teacher, stage coordinator, sport coordinator, RFF provider and many more things.  So many children have benefitted from her kind and caring ways, as well as her excellent teaching.  Glenda is retiring, and will no doubt be booking some more travel to fill her days.  In my early days at William Carey, I greatly appreciated Glenda’s informal mentorship as I learnt my craft.  She has been a great support from those early days and continues to check in on me to see how I am going.  I know I am not alone in having this privilege.  Our prayers go with Glenda as she enters this new phase of her life.

Mr Jack Neggo – Jack has been filling many casual vacancies for us over 2018 and we have appreciated all he has done.  In 2019, Jack will be joining us as a full-time member of staff.  We welcome him to the William Carey family.

Miss Alison Jones – Alison is an experienced teacher, who has taught in a number of Christian schools over the years.  Alison is new to William Carey and will be joining us as a full-time teacher.  We look forward to getting to know Alison.

Mrs Dawn Smith –  Although Dawn is P-12, I cannot pass up the opportunity to say at least a few words.  For those who don’t know, Dawn was the original William Carey teacher when the school started and is still with us now!  An amazing achievement in anyone’s book.  Dawn has done so much in her time at William Carey, impacting the lives of so many people.  My interactions with Dawn have always been so positive.  I have never left a conversation with her without feeling encouraged and uplifted.  A rare gift!  Dawn has been Head of Library for numerous years and leaves it as an amazingly well resourced and run facility.  Dawn will be replaced by a previous WCCS staff member – Miss Kathryn Leech.

There will be some other changes with part time staff, which I will announce once finalised.

Prep 2019
This year we decided to expand our Prep School to include a third three-day class.  This has been very successful, so that will be continuing into 2019.  Do you know someone with a Prep aged child who might be interested?  If so, please contact enrolments ASAP, so you can secure your place.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.  Isaiah 40:28-31

In His Service,
