End of Year

As you can see from the upcoming events, there is a lot still to happen over the remaining weeks of term.  I would encourage parents and students to note the days and times for the various end of year assemblies as well as uniform requirements for each.  Our mufti day is the Wednesday of the last week of term, so as not to clash with any formal events.

Vacation Care

Vacation Care bookings are filling up quickly, so you need to act now to secure your child’s place.  Booking forms are available from the OOSH building, Enrolments Office or the school webpage.  Our two themes promise lots of fun activities and experiences for the children with December – Jesus is the Reason for the Season and January – Splash ‘n’ Dash.

Thank You

A simple thank you doesn’t seem like enough, but here goes all the same.  Thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles who have helped out in any way over 2017.  From sharpening pencils to helping with sport; from going on excursions to spending three days and nights on a camp, every contribution is greatly appreciated.  As I have said many times before, these things simply can’t happen without parent support, and we are very blessed with the support we receive at William Carey!

Classes for 2018

Staff are still working hard on classes for 2018, as we do put a lot of time into these decisions.  There are also enrolments that come in over the Christmas break to consider in this process.  Consequently, we are not in a position to publish class lists until after Christmas.  The goal is to have them available via the Carer Portal sometime during staff development week (January 22 to 26).

Talent Show

We had a large number of students try-out for the annual talent show this year, with an amazing variety of acts.  Miss Grinsell and her helpers had the very challenging task of selecting the performances to go through to the main show.  Congratulations to all of those students who made it through and well done to all who participated.

IPSSO Sport has wrapped up for another year.  Our teams had a good season, with three making it through to the finals – Junior T-Ball, Senior Oz Tag and Senior Cricket.  Congratulations to our Senior Oz Tag Team, who won their final!
