From Mrs Coote

Welcome back to Term 3! Unfortunately, under very different circumstances. Remote Learning is a challenge for all parties, and the teaching staff, like yourselves, are managing their own children’s education and their work duties. In 1 Peter 5:7, the Bible shares, ‘Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for us’. There is nothing that we are going through at we cannot place on Jesus. He is always there to take our worries away from us.

Would you please not become alarmed if your child is not always focused on their learning? For children, completing work from home is vastly different from doing it at school. This challenge is faced daily by every classroom teacher. The difference being is that they are trained to redirect students that are displaying such behaviours. We appreciate every parents’ efforts and acknowledge the complexities that sit behind this.

The Primary staff at William Carey have been providing well-thought lessons for your children; however, another essential part of their role is to make sure all students are equipped to access their learning. When your child submits work, the teachers can provide meaningful feedback and notify other staff of possible needs. Some students would have begun individual or small group tutor groups to support them through their learning journey.

Over the next couple of weeks, the staff will be contacting the families and checking to see how your child is working and how you are managing remote learning. We know that there are many challenges involved in juggling both work and school, so please use this time to share the highs and lows of this experience.

We are looking forward to continuing this journey alongside you. Please be aware that ongoing communication can be found on Edumate ‘Newsfeed’ and the William Carey Remote Learning site.

God bless,
Gillian Coote
