From Mr Burgess

Athletics Carnival

A HUGE thank you to Mr du Plooy and the team who put together the athletics carnival last week.  It was amazing!  Congratulations also to the students who competed keenly and fairly and had a great attitude towards the day.  While it is obviously disappointing that we can’t have our usual sporting events, this was a pretty good replacement!

Parent/Teacher Interviews on Microsoft Teams

By now all parents should have received a broadcast with the general details about parent/teacher interviews, and an email (hopefully to addresses for both parents) with username and password information.  We had a small number of emails bounce back, so if you didn’t receive the information, please contact the school to update your email information.  Bookings close on Sunday evening, so please check that you have secured your time.  NOTE: This does not apply to parents who arrange IP bookings.

Just a reminder of the basic information:

Years 3-6              Tuesday 8th September                 3:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Years K-2               Wednesday 9th September         3:30 pm to 8:30 pm

The times are a little different to usual, due to COVID restrictions and how we are (or are not) allowed to group students. NOTE: all interviews will again be by Microsoft Teams.

Parents do not need to prepare for the interviews.  You will be sent a link which you simply click at your interview time, and you will be brought into a meeting with the teacher.

School Photos

School photos were postponed from earlier in the year, due to COVID.  The new arrangements are:

Friday 4th September             High School photos plus sibling photos for Year 12

Friday 16th October                Primary Photo Day, Prep (Thurs/Fri) plus remaining sibling photos

Wednesday 21st October      Prep Photo Day (Mon-Wed)

If you have a primary student attending family photos with their Year 12 sibling this Friday, please ensure they are dressed for the photo.

Lost Property

Could you please check your child’s jumpers/jackets/hats etc. and if they have accidentally brought the wrong one home, please return it to school? There have been a few cases where children’s items have been going missing even when labelled. If you are looking for your child’s lost property, please contact the Primary Office, as at present, according to COVID guidelines, parents can not come up to the Primary playground.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.  John 14:27
