The Growth Mindset For All

We have come to the end of a very busy 2017. Teaching staff have undergone significant in-service training to hone their skills in a variety of areas. Students have been led through a plethora of learning activities and grown in their knowledge and understanding. The school has been advocating a growth mindset for both staff and students; that through ongoing involvement in opportunities for learning, staff and student capability is constantly growing. It has been our desire for relationships to grow also as teachers and students work together. Now that we are reaching the end of the school year, everyone is looking forward to a well-earned rest.

Timely Reminders

As this is the last newsletter for the year, I would like to remind parents and carers about some of the purchases you are likely to make over the holiday break. For advice about the correct shoe and sport shoe options please refer to the WCCS website page with our Uniform brochure:

You can reach this through this online link:

The rolling phase-in of school bags continues for 2018: All Prep to Year 11 students (inclusive) will be required to have WCCS school bags (Year 12 optional) next year.

With Christmas approaching it draws our thoughts to God’s gift of his Son, whose death and resurrection enables us to come back into relationship with our Heavenly Father. 700 years before Jesus was born, the book of Isaiah records “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.” This is a priceless Christmas gift. Happy Christmas.

In His service,

Derek White.
