Vacation Care
Have you seen what is happening at Vacation Care these holidays?  The theme, Colour Explosion, involves a lot of fun activities designed to make the holidays both fun and educational.  Booking forms are available from OOSH or from the Vacation Care page.

Primary Poetry
I have been excited to see the entries coming in for the Primary poetry competition.  We have some very creative students, who craft some amazing poems.  We will be reading through these over the coming days, as we select the top entries to be submitted to the Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Competition.

Bus Behaviour
By and large, our children are well behaved on the buses to and from school.  On occasion I receive a report of inappropriate behaviour, and we follow up such reports keenly.  Our goal for bus travel is obviously the safety of the children, so with that in mind we have a number of clear expectations:

  • All Primary children are seated in the front half of the bus, facing the front
  • Children do not leave their seats, until they arrive at their stop
  • No eating or drinking
  • No swinging on railings

Students are also required to tap on and off with their OPAL Card each journey.

Reports are coming home on Monday, with Prep reports going home over the week, depending on which days your child attends.  Reports will be handed to children in class.  If you have any questions regarding your child’s report, please contact their class teacher.

Staffing Announcement
At the end of this term, Mrs Julie-Ann Hart will be leaving us, to go on maternity leave.  Mrs Hart is expecting her first child, and I would ask the school community to keep her in their prayers as this time approaches.  Mrs Hart will be replaced by Mrs Kiersten Pitman, who is well known to our school.

Student Lunches
If students arrive at school without either recess or lunch, we will provide something for them from the office.  Usually this will be biscuits for recess and a basic sandwich for lunch.  We are not able to place canteen orders for them.  We usually notify parents when this has happened, as on occasion, things are not necessarily as presented by the student.

Mary Poppins
I make it my business to frequently wander through the hall when musical rehearsals are on.  As I have done that over the last few weeks, it is amazing to see (and hear) how well the musical is coming together.  They sound great!  If you haven’t already booked your tickets, I would encourage you to do so ASAP, to ensure you don’t miss out – tickets can be purchased online.

Woolworths Earn and Learn
Woolworths Earn and Learn promotion is back again this year.  We have just received information telling us that it will run from 26th July to 19th September 2017.  Please keep a look-out at your local Woolworths, so we can be part of this again.  This promotion has gained a lot of equipment for William Carey over the years, so we are keen to take full advantage again this year.  More information soon.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?  Psalm 8:3-4
