That’s a wrap! The term has almost come to an end, with some fantastic memories made along the way.
Firstly, we’d like to recognise the hard work and effort everyone has put into this term with their studies and community involvement. We’ve had some great opportunities to gather as a collective in various ways such as the ‘A Little Night Music’ event, Year 12 Social Study Evenings and finally J-Walk. These are some of the exciting events that have come about but there’s still more to come. Stay tuned for updates!
‘A Little Night Music’ was held on-site which featured students from Kindy all the way up to Year 12. We’ve had amazing feedback given to us and we are proud that the night went so well. We would like to thank everyone who was able to attend the night as well as the production crew for having the courage to get up and do something great! We are looking forward to seeing you next year at the next ‘A Little Night Music’.
In Senior School, Year 12 has been busy with assessments and studying over the past few weeks. Recently, the year group was able to come together on a night after school and participate in a ‘Maths Study Night’ to learn, help and share ideas and resources with each other. We would like to give a huge thank you to Dylan and Kaysia for going out of their way in organising this event for us. We would also like to recognise all of the staff members who put in a lot of effort to stay behind at school to help our HSC students with their studies. The night came to a wonderful end with some pizza dinner and dessert. We trust this night was beneficial for the cohort.
Our termly event, J-Walk was held in Week 8. The William Carey community were able to hear from Rev. Phil Lui who spoke about the importance of community and how we can create a safe and lasting community in our school environment. This event was a great time for students from across all year groups in our school to join together in worship and encouragement from God’s word.
The female SLC members also ran a Girls’ Night this week! This night was a great time for the girls in our school to get to know each other better and also be greatly encouraged and challenged from God’s word. It was so good to see many of our girls be able to enjoy games, food, talks and quality time with each other. Thanks to everyone who came, and to everyone who helped make the night a possibility!
We ask you to continue to pray for our school community, especially keeping in mind our Year 12 students as they go through their final assessments and start preparing for the Trial HSC Examinations.
We would like to leave you with a verse of encouragement from Colossians 3:12.
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
An important aspect of life at William Carey is our reputation for community and support, both from families, past students, our teachers and our students. We encourage each of you to continue acting towards others in kindness as we go about the end of this term. We pray that you can constantly be looking for ways to support and lift each other up within our school community.
