From the SLC

On behalf of the student body we would like to welcome you back to the new school term. We hope your holiday was relaxing and productive, filled with family and friends. We have a busy term ahead of us, so let’s jump right in!

Our school musical is in the near future and tickets are selling fast! Our cast, crew and production team have been working hard and consistently over the past two terms towards this spectacular musical. Mary Poppins is a fun and colourful musical which is “practically perfect” for all ages. Tickets are available online now. Be sure to get your hands on some tickets before they all go!

Year 12 are currently studying hard in preparation for the Trial HSC exams. This can be a very stressful and daunting time for our Year 12 students. Be sure to keep them in your prayers and encourage them as they prepare to undergo these exams. Keep up the good work Year 12, you’re almost there!

As our current Year 12 SLC representatives’ time at school comes to an end, the process of choosing a new council of diligent and serving students is beginning. Be sure to pray for those considering to apply, and for the wisdom of staff and students in voting for the applicants, as this can be a difficult process. We pray that God will be preparing the hearts of the new council to serve the school and God wholeheartedly with Christ as their model. We are keen to see our future student leaders, both in and outside of the SLC.

Colossians 3:23-24 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving”. We encourage all students to uphold this verse as they go into the new school term. Sometimes we can get caught up with our grades and ranks, especially during exam season. Let this be a challenge to us to remember our true reward is not in our grades or ranks, however, it is in our inheritance from the Lord. In all that we do this term, work diligently for God, because it is He who we are serving.

For God’s glory,
Mihailo Milenkovic and Abbey Hyde
