Hello parents, carers and guardians. Welcome to Week 9 of Term 1. We are nearing the end of the term, holidays are almost upon us and so much has happened in the last few weeks. Most notably, the Athletics Carnival and the running of the Year 12 HSC Study Night. So much has happened, yet there is still much to anticipate in the upcoming weeks. These remaining few weeks will see this term’s J-Walk and the end of term assembly.
J-Walk will be held on the lunchtime of Thursday, 4th of April. All students are invited to attend J-Walk, in which they worship, learn and share wisdom and discuss insights of the word of God and the nature of Christianity. The topic of discussion for this J-Walk will be ‘Growing up as a Christian in an Islamic Country (Pakistan)’. A guest to the school, Matt Bales, will be joining us for this discussion. We encourage students to come along to hear and see how this relates to them. We hope that this J-Walk may illuminate and spark a conversation to inspire our fellow students to get thinking.
Year 12 participated in the HSC Study Night on the 21st of March. The students were able to remain after school till 8:00 pm, preparing for their upcoming exams with volunteering teachers from each faculty. We would like to personally thank all teachers who helped with the night and SLC for organising the fantastic evening. We wish Year 12 and other grades all the best in completing the remainder of their exams and assignments for the term.
We would also like to congratulate all those who participated at the Athletics Carnival. The carnival highlighted a great deal of talent from members of our school community and was a fun day towards the end of Term 1. We encourage those who took part in the races to persevere in furthering their talents. (Go Taylor!)
Linking with the topic of J-Walk we would like to leave you all with the following verse;
Deuteronomy 31:6 – “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
