As the term comes to an end, we would like to take the time to reflect on some exciting events which have taken place on our school calendar this term.
Saturday June 16th was A Little Night Music, where a great range of musical talent was showcased for our school community. Students from Kindergarten to Year 12 displayed extensive passion and skill in their performances, and all who attended had an enjoyable night, well done to all involved.
Last week during Thursday lunchtime, J-Walk Term 2 ran with great success. Students were challenged to see themselves as having the same worth as Mr White’s trombone spit valve (See 1 Corinthians 12 below for context!). Don’t forget to come along next term for music, fun and fellowship.
Over the past two weeks, our Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh hikes have taken place, as students and teachers braved the wet and cold to prove their skills in the bush. Thankfully, all hikers returned safely and, understandably, with varying levels of exhaustion.
As the term comes to an end, and our fellow high-schoolers are looking forward to three weeks of holidays, we want to congratulate students for the hard work ethic which has been put into assessments and exams this term.
Year 12, as you go into a busy holiday before trials, our prayer for you is that you persevere with diligence through your studies. Use your time wisely, there’s not long to go! Year 7-11, don’t let your efforts slack either. Enjoy the break, but come back refreshed for a new term of opportunities to learn and grow.
Finally a word of encouragement, which those who attended J-Walk and heard Mr. White’s talk, will already be familiar with. We are all part of one body of Christ. Do not forget your worth, but do not belittle others’ either. Keep working for His glory.
But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be?
– 1 Corinthians 12:18-19.
Yours in His grace,
