Year 7 Geography Excursion

Edmondson Park: Year 7 Assess Liveability

In Term 2, the Year 7 Geography classes studied the topic of “Place and Liveability”.  In Week 4 this term, all classes undertook a bus tour (over three periods) to assess the nearby areas of Edmondson Park and Bardia.  We stopped off at various points to see the new shopping facilities, the train station parking (or lack thereof), housing and recreational space for residents moving into these greenfields sites.

Students were most impressed by the play equipment at the rest stop and the very large mansions built on the hill looking down towards the Motorway and Ingleburn. For assessment purposes, they were then asked to comment on the suitability of this suburb for new families, taking into account all the criteria for liveability.
